BU goes undercover for Homecoming

By Shannon Siders Bellarmine University celebrated Homecoming this year with an undercover theme. The week of events provided fun for all students and was capped off by a strong win by the men's basketball team on Saturday (for full coverage of the game, see page 8).

Students participate in speech contest

By Timalyn Baker Thursday, February 11th, Bellarmine University's School of Communication held its 5th Annual "Speak it Up" competition in Hilary's. The program began at 11 am with Prof. Winnie Spitza introducing the Master of Ceremonies, Matt Schuster. From there Schuster went on to introduce the honorable guest judges, Katherine Taylor and Charlotte Hammett Hubrich, both from the University of Louisville.

Community rallies to save Ear X-tacy

By Nick Welsh "When you couldn't buy [music] online, Ear X-tacy was the best option for Louisville; they're not just competing locally anymore. The Internet has opened up the free market," Aryeh Ballaban, senior Political Science major, explains. "Ear X-tacy is a nice store, but it's become much more convenient to find music online, drastically effecting hard-copy sales.

Doctor of Philosophy to be offered January 2011

By Chelsea Ancona The faculty and members of The Annsley Frazier Thornton School of Education are in the process of developing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) The Doctor of Philosophy will qualify graduates to work in a variety of vocations including public and private school administration, higher education, educational research and non-profit agencies.

KARH success for Bellarmine delagates

By Daniel White Six Bellarmine students recently attended the 2010 Kentucky Association of Residence Halls (KARH) Conference. The conference was held from February 5-7 at Thomas More College in northern Kentucky. Bellarmine's delegates included Residence Hall Association (RHA) president Stephanie House, as well as Petrik and Siena Hall Council presidents Christine Elder and Sarah Hoffeditz.

Frazier Stadium adds lockers rooms

By Shane Anderson If you do not spend much time down by Owsley B. Frazier Stadium, you probably have not noticed the new construction that is being done. Finally, they are building locker rooms for the teams that participate on the field. If you are familiar with the layout of the athletic facilities here at Bellarmine, you know that everything is located in Knights Hall.
