Why do people find a twelve-cent increase in four days for a gallon of fuel, fast food chains growing rapidly on every street corner, and people killing others to receive the newest form of video game? A lot of people are immoral now in society. We often tend to pass by those in need. Little things in life can go a very long way and can lighten people's days in more ways than we recognize.

Addictions, custody battles, and suicide attempts plaster and reduce the significance of the phrase "national news." What happened to where the news was the news? We should realize we have a life of our own, whether it's a pathetic one or not, and we should leave others lives alone. With all of the cruelty and harsh acts of our own in society; murders and rapes, violence and destruction, why do we as individuals just sit back and ignore the ongoing problem?

The act of one's awareness and acting on it can influence many others in several ways. We prefer to be driven than to drive others. We must start acting in a manner that is filled with more integrity, more honesty, and more sincerity. Step out of your comfort zone, great things will happen as a result. It is time for us to embrace others and witness occurrences in life from a new standpoint. If all of us decided to participate in these actions, I guarantee Bellarmine University would be a better place.
