The Bellarmine University softball team lost both games of a doubleheader against Missouri-St. Louis. The Tritons are leading the Greater Lakes Valley Conference, and they showed why with a pair of 3-0 victories over the Knights.
BU only managed six hits in the loss, while failing to turn any of those hits into a run. On the other side of the plate, the Tritons scored only one earned run in the game. But some unforced errors gave the Tritons two unearned runs to push the winning margin to 3-0.
Bellarmine junior Emma Raver was perfect in the game, going two for two in game one, and sophomore pitcher Casey Willard was the losing pitcher in the match, going six innings without giving up an earned run.
In game two, Bellarmine continued their scoreless streak on offense, managing just two hits. The Missouri-St. Louis Tritons continued their winning streak by winning their 10th game in a row.
Bellarmine falls to 17-27, 7-11 GLVC. By sweeping the Knights, UMSL takes the conference lead with a 12-2 league record and improve to 28-13 overall.
