A Reader's Corner Bookstore, a venture started by Bellarmine Philosophy Professor Tim Fout along with his wife Judy Fout, sets itself apart from the competition. Offering new and used books, the store features virtually everything you are looking for, from history to local to children's works to fiction, and more.

"We emphasize that we're local and family owned," said Judy, the owner, CEO, and manager of the company, which opened in 1997.

The bookstore features a cozy "Coffee Corner" with free wi-fi and snacks such as Louisville-favorite Kozito cookies. Other items, such as bookmarks, gift certificates, DVDs, CDs, and greeting cards are available for purchase.

New books are discounted 20% and teachers are offered a 15% discount with valid school ID. Bellarmine students, faculty and staff are also offered a special 20% discount with valid ID.

The bookstore offers story-time events featuring crafts and refreshments the second Saturday of every month, and is the meeting place for several writers' groups. An open mic event has also been hosted there.

Frequent buyer discounts are available along with a "Wish List" program. Customers can request to be notified when a certain book comes in so they have the first shot at it. Requests for books that are not available in-store can also be requested through the website or specially ordered.

Customers may sell their used books to the store in exchange for cash or a store credit. The store credit option will include an added percentage.

A Reader's Corner is located at 138 Breckenridge Lane in Louisville, about ten minutes from Bellarmine. The bookstore is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
