First, let me state that I am not a huge fan of horror movies, especially really gory ones. However, the Saw films are an exception. Last Friday, the latest addition to the jigsaw puzzle came out in theatres.

I feel that when it comes to the Saw movies, people have two different views. People either feel that the plot is sick (not in a good way) because they question why someone would create such a twisted plot, or they love it because of the logic and mystery behind the games.

I think the Saw movies are brilliant because it makes the mind think, even though the clown doll terrifies me, and the statement, "I want to play a game with you," sends chills up my spine.

If you are like me and have seen all of the Saw movies up until now, or at least most of them, then Saw VI's plot may be somewhat of a bore to you because it is kind of spelled out. I already got the feeling of who would be trapped in Jigsaw's game about ten minutes into the film and somewhat why.

However, what makes Saw VI different from the ones before it is that many of the "victims" in this movie do not take advantage of their life with the abuse of drugs and other depressing acts. Instead, they are put into this nightmare because they are bias towards those who are not "worthy" enough to receive health insurance.

Also, I would say that the film is pretty bloody and gruesome, maybe even too much . . .

As I was watching the movie, I got the feeling that the director intentionally wanted to show the audience just how horrific the movie can be. The torture and death scenes seemed more intense than in the previous movies. At some points, it was hard for me to sit through the scene.

Also, what made Saw VI somewhat different than the others is usually people have a chance to survive. However, this is not so much the case in Saw VI. In the many games throughout the film, at least one person must die in order for someone else to be saved. It seems the games have increased in the area of cruel and unusual punishment to show us how flawed people can be.

Again, the blood, torture, and body-tearing are not my thing, but the mystery and logic is. After leaving the theatre, I thought about the movie for the next couple of days, replaying the games in my head. Honestly, it left me feeling a bit sad because I imagined myself in the games, but at the same time it was interesting.

Everything happens for a reason, and in Saw VI, every little detail happens for a reason. I advise that if you see this movie, pay attention to practically everything and see the previous Saw films. If you jump right into Saw VI you will be very confused.

Overall, this would probably be a good movie to watch if you like something that will entice your mind. It would also be a good movie if you just wanted to see blood and guts. However, if you are one to get scared easily, then I would not recommend it.
