Early Thursday January 21, Noel Disney, a junior Communication major at Bellarmine was killed in an automobile accident in Oldham County.
Noel was born December 14, 1988 in Louisville, the daughter of Paul III and Nancy (Taylor) Disney.
Services were held yesterday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walnut Street Baptist Christian Social Ministries, 1143 S. Third St., Suite A, Louisville, KY 40203.
If you or your friends who might wish to meet with someone to process this shocking, sad news do not hesitate to contact the Counseling Center at 452-8480 or the Office of Campus Ministry at 452-8051.
Some friends and professors of Disney have sent in memories of her to share with the campus community.
I knew Noel. We were friends. We took radio drama last semester. I always remember her having a smile on her face and just having fun even though we had to dedicate much of our time during the week nights. She was in charge of the chimes and I remember she had fun making noises for A Christmas Carol. She loved rings. She was so much fun to be around and it put me in a good mood after hanging with her.

I've only known her just a few weeks, since she had signed up for my Film Studies course. Just on Wednesday, I was joking with her about her last name (Disney in a film studies course) and how often people ask whether she's related to "the" Disney family. She laughed and said she was asked constantly, but she didn't mind. She said she believed she was distantly related.
In the short time I knew her, I found her to be quite smart and funny in a quiet, relaxed sort of way. It's terribly difficult to see Noel die so young, when there so much left to do. To say this is not to take away from the impact she did have in the time she was with us -- as I'm sure you will hear from people who had the opportunity to know her better than me.
