Bellarmine University has a new club to add to the list. Danielle White and Bryanna Tidmarsh, both junior English majors, have started a Creative Writing club. The group held its first meeting Jan. 28 during free period.
White said, "Our goal is to eventually become a full-fledged RSO, but at the moment we are still in the planning stages."
There was already a lot of interest in the club shown at the first meeting.
The meeting was a general information session to get an idea about who is interested in the club. Tidmarsh mentioned that future meetings will consist of writing exercises, workshops where members can bring their works and get critiqued, along with other events like speakers.
Professor Ruby gave White and Tidmarsh some good tips on how to start the club, since she has a Creative Writing course.
This club will be dedicated solely to creative writing. Everything from novels to screenplays are welcome during the workshops.
While Ariel is dedicated to finished works, the Creative Writing club will focus on the writing process and revisions. The Daily Knight will feature the time and days for future meetings, so keep an eye out if you are interested and did not get a chance to go to the meeting.
To join the mailing list, you can contact Bryanna at btidmarsh@bellarmine.edu or Danielle at dwhite02@bellarmine.edu.
Non-English majors are welcome to join of course.
