As box office breaking series such as Harry Potter and Twilight are coming to a close, a new hero story is emerging. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is a smart, entertaining thrill ride that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

Adapted from the best-selling novels by Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief tells the story of young Percy Jackson, as he discovers the truth about his parentage and what it means for his future. Accused of stealing Zeus's master lightning bolt, Percy is sent on a daring quest that no one believes him capable of surviving. With the help of two very special friends, and some clever thinking, Percy Jackson gives Harry Potter a good run for his money in this mythology based tale.

Starring Logan Lerman (Gamer) and Pierce Brosnan (Mamma Mia), this movie is full of action packed scenes delivered flawlessly by the young cast. The performances of the actors make the story quite believable and bring the audience into the tale. Deviating slightly from the novel, the movie tells its own story without losing the overall meaning and emotion of the print form.

Comprised of mythology, magic, adventure, danger, and love this is one movie that is great for all ages. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief will enchant the heart and capture the mind. It is truly one of spectacular proportions and is definitely worth seeing in theaters. If you enjoy the magical worlds of Harry Potter and Eragon you're sure to love this new hero and his daring tale.
